This is were I say a farewell...(tear)

This is going to be my last post, I will leave this up for reference and all that good stuff, BUT I am moving on to bigger and better things....I am nearing my graduation of school some time in 2011 and I am going to be busy updating artwork, designing web pages and all that fun stuff. I am putting off Pickle Designs LLC for now and maybe some time in the future I can put together a great creative team and make some mad money being a big boss of a design firm. The future is wide open! Thanks to all those that have visited this site and even though not much traffic goes through this blog - thanks for all the support!

My Art/Charity Project - Donate to help!

I am testing some drafts to go on some shirts for a self-promo and to sale them for a good cause! 10% of my sales on the t-shirts I am going to be donating to the SLEEP APNEA ASSOCIATION to help fund research and to assist in educating and helping those that suffer from this crippling issue that effects more and more Americans every day. Afghanistan Water Polo? Logo Re-design.

Well, I am lucky enough to get work via facebook, it is truly amazing to utilize social networking! My old friend has been working with the Afghanistan water polo team and wanted me to redesign the logo for the pride of the country, no pressure. As I see it is a great opportunity to get my name out and maybe internationally..never know right. I am in the middle of the design now and have to say with the collaboration of my friend and me it is coming along nicely and a rough draft will be sen this week; Hopefully there will be limited changes and we are good to go (in my dreams right... there is always some minor changes before the official launch. Focused on design and becoming a Brand Designer.

Let me sum it up for those interested, I have decided to take my strengths and run with it. What does that mean? Well, in short realizing my artistic strengths and making that adjustment to follow my dream. I love typography vector illustrations and design. I love logos and the whole branding of a company is amazing and intense. In the coming year my focus is on brand design and research, and to take that knowledge to the people who need it. There are companies right now that can improve sales, clean up there customer perception by simply using a graphic designer. One that is skilled in relating a companies image onto a graphic usable element. I am passionate about doing Logo design and the process called branding. I find that that is what I enjoy the most is working on logos and providing solution to business every were, "Whats my identity". Of course using all my skills  to maintain  the current trends, to push the current trends. I have posted some logo designs below for your viewing pleasure. Various Logo's below. Drumroll Please.... Winning Shirt Design For Hires is - CarHop Chick

I was chosen as the top winner in the Hires T-Shirt Design Contest and I Finally found out that they chose my 3rd submission, the car hop chick. I had a great time designing these three shirts and even better winning. I enjoyed eating my first Hires Burger Wins, last night with my cute wife and still have 75 dollars left over out of the 100 dollars they gave me. The shirt will be apart of there new line of shirts for sell and a special collectors edition. Sad thing Is I have to probably buy it to show it off. Well, Congratulations to me!! UPDATING PORFOLIO - NEWS!

Its almost been 2 years since I graduated, time sure flys... I have been going to school through online and some campus classes back at the Art Institute, although the classes have been mostly general eds and some filler classes. In the next few months I will be working on a new version of my porfolio and new art to come! Along with revamping is redesigning my personal logo, I have posted some on here just recently - however I feel that it does not represent me entirely, so its back to the drawing board for me. So to sum it up; look for new artwork in the next 3-6 months as I plan on this revamping project. I hope to have the following pieces to show you. 3 new poster designs in vector called the imagination series. 2 InDesign projects (brochure and magazine spread) One solid photoshop Art peice, New Logos, Identity work. I will include some flash components, i.e. Banner ads and another sample. Some package designs, and advertising pieces, along with basic artwork sketches and process work. So, look out for the new identity logo or my new mark to go along cohesive to this new porfolio. I leave you with 2 designs to follow after this, My Temple artwork and SuperBreakout!

Hires T-Shirt Designs: My 3 submissions

November 15th was the deadline to submit as many times, to be entered to win 100 dollars in Hires, and Litza Pizza. I was challenged by Terry Hanna and met his match and will find out hopefully by the end of the Month on who won? Eric's Magazine Spread

This is my second Eric Clapton Peice, this is a Magazine spread, and is the left side of the Magazine actually. This would be an article found in Blender, or Rolling stone Magazine art. Clean and sharp lines, contrast and color and halftones set this art apart from typical articles.

MAZE CRAZE!!!

I love designing mazes, when I used to work for survey companies and call after call of rejection and maybe 2 survey's for the whole day, mazes was my outlet. I was given the opportunity to design a 5 page book concept and came up with utilizing my idea of mazes in a new and fun way with adventures a story line. This is great for kids and the kid at heart. Package design is one of my other hobbies and passion, there is so much design space to utilize in packages, next time your in the grocery store look around you and see all the artwork that is in your face everywhere. What is Pickle about anyways??

Alright, lets get to the nitty and the gritty - PICKLE...? what the heck is this pickle all about anyways?? Well, it started more then 10 years ago, in a far away land called New Mexico. I served my church for 2 years amongst the Navajo people and was nicknamed Pickle or Elder Pickle (they could not say my last name PILKINGTON), shortly after I got home in Cache Valley Utah it seemed the named lived on. In fact I was called pickle by bosses and co-workers; I rarely go by this name now, mainly because people never got to know RYAN. Honeslty you can call me whichever you want, I will answer to both. In this blog I hope to showcase my artistic abilities with my freelance company name as Pickle Productions and designs by Ryan Pilkington. Pickle productions of course uses my nickname and I have gone under many different logos, this is only part of the new logo and idenity - I will be posting more on my identity arwork later, but for now - this is your teaser. I am also working on my name by itself to bring it to a more personal level. So pickle is not some sick joke, and no sailer gave me this name but some indians blessed me with the best nick name ever!
